We shared the local seafood pot with rice- it was delicious! It’s family owned and very popular. I would make a reservation or arrive at 12:30 when they open.
Casual restaurant close to The Ivens. This is the little, casual sister to this famous Portuguese chef known for Encanto and Belcanto. Delicious, authentic food and very cool vibe.
Shops!
There is a lot of great shopping in Lisbon- these are just 2 small, unique shops I loved right down the street from The Ivens
Highly recommend a half day tour when you arrive to help get your bearings and some history!
We hired a driver to take us to Cascais (the beach) and Sintra (historical town/castles) for the day- you can also take the train. We loved both towns!!
Perfect for lunch after lots of walking on our morning tour.
Side notes:
Definitely wear sneakers! So much walking up and down the hills. Uber is very easy and reasonable if you decide you’ve had enough walking.
Also check out sunset cruises- We did not do this, but Genevieve did, and said it was beautiful!
We walked up to the Castelo de San Jorge early one morning before it got too hot and too crowded to see the views and peacocks! On our way out, we enjoyed big cups of freshly cut fruit from a kiosk.
